Yes. The Sequoia District's Attendance Policy requires that students attend class regularly in order to receive credit for that class.
Sequoia High School students will not receive credit for a semester class if they have 12 absences in a class, where 3 or more of the absences are cuts (unexcused absences).
Students who have 12 or more absences with only 1 or 2 cuts may appeal to the Principal and earn credit for the course if the student has earned a passing grade. |
Student absences must be excused by a guardian within 5 school days of the absence. After the 5th day the absence becomes unexcused if it is not cleared. Absences can be cleared by a note or by a telephone call to the Attendance Office.
Please do not bring absences to the school to be cleared after this time. They are registered as unexcused on the student's record.
12 or more absences with 3 or more cuts = an "NA" grade (NO CREDIT). |
You can check your attendance online at Communicado. Absences and tardies area updated daily.
