Industrial Arts

Sequoia High School's new state-of-the-art $2.5 million dollar Woodshop opened Fall Semester 2006. In addition to our new facility, brand new high quality industrial-grade hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools were purchased for the Woodshop.

The Industrial Arts Department offers three courses: Wood I, Wood II, and Wood III.

El pasado semestre de otoño del 2006, Sequoia High School abrió, a un costo de $2.5 millones de dólares, su moderno taller de carpintería. Además de nuestras nuevas instalaciones, se adquirieron para el taller de carpintería herramientas manuales, así como también, eléctricas portátiles y estacionarias nuevas y de alta calidad industrial.

El Departamento de Artes Industriales ofrece tres cursos: Carpintería I, Carpintería II, y Carpintería III.

Note: + = means the course may satisfy the Practical Art graduation requirement

+ WOOD I - Grades 9, 10, 11, 12

Suggested Prerequisite: None

This is an introductory course with an emphasis on planning, design, measurements, finishing, and safety in working with wood.

+ WOOD II and III - Grades 9, 10, 11, 12

Suggested Prerequisite: Completion of Wood I/II or department recommendation

Instruction in finishing and fabrication procedures as they pertain to cabinet making and furniture manufacture. There are individual projects.
