A BRIEF HISTORY
In 2000, discussion began at Sequoia High School over school reform. Staff members began to recognize the need to reflect on, and possibly change, the way we were going about educating the students of Sequoia. As a result, work began on a long path that was divided into two separate efforts; a house program for students in grades 9 and 10, and career interest pathways for students in grades 11 and 12.
- 2001-02: - Discussion began about PLCs.
- Staff visits small school settings in NYC and Washington State to look at existing models
- SLC Design Team formed to look at potential models for SHS. Two models emerge:
