Last Day to ADD A CLASS: 09/06/17 - Only if missing graduation/A-G requirement.


El último día para añadir una clase es el 6 de septiembre de 2017 - Solo si la clase es necesaria para graduarse o ingresar a la universidad.

Last Day to DROP A CLASS WITHOUT PENALTY 09/27/17 - parental permission required.

El último día para quitarse una clase es el 27 de septiembre 2017 - permiso de padre/guardian requerido

Students or their parents CANNOT DROP A CLASS from student's schedule after 11/21/17.

Los estudiantes o padres no pueden quitar al estudiante una clase después del 21 de noviembre de 2017.

Second Semester (Segundo Semestre)

Last Day to ADD A CLASS: 02/2/18 - Only if missing graduation/A-G requirement.

El último día para añadir una clase es el 2 de febrero de 2018 - Solo si la clase es necesaria para graduarse o ingresar a la universidad.

Last Day to DROP A CLASS WITHOUT PENALTY 02/28/18 - parental permission required.

El último día para quitarse una clase es el 28 de febrero 2018 - permiso de padre requerido

Students or their parents CANNOT DROP A CLASS from student's schedule after 04/19/18.

Los estudiantes o padres no pueden quitar al estudiante una clase después del 19 de abril 2018.

NOTE: STUDENTS WHO NEED TO MAKE UP COURSES IN ORDER TO GRADUATE or to meet the A-G college requirements are able to make up those courses through Cyber High credit recovery programs, or through private online classes or the community college system.

To sign up have them see their counselor.

A Warm Welcome to you, Parents/Guardians and Students!
 

We, at Sequoia High School, are looking forward to having you join our Sequoia High School Family! Once you come to Sequoia you become one of our own and we will work with you to assist you in preparing for your life after high school. The journey is as important as the destination so we will do our best to help you make your years at Sequoia be some of the most memorable of your life. To this end we will be continuously adding information to this web site regarding registering at Sequoia and the selection of 9th grade courses.

The registration process will be put into place next semester. In the mean time feel free to check the selection of courses that are offered at Sequoia. We will start by sharing with you the electives and later the core academic courses.

  • English Sequence of Courses
    Regardless of where a student starts in English, they can meet the graduation requirements in 4 years. For the lower levels students can catch up by going to summer school.
  • Math Sequence of Courses
    Even if a 9th grader starts with Algebra Readiness, he/she will be able to meet the math A-G requirement within four years of high school. Also, universities want all students to take 4 years of math, regardless of where they start.
  • Science Sequence of Courses
    The purpose of this chart is to help for students decide which science courses they wish to take in High school. Please pay close attention to the required or recommended English and Math levels.
  • World Languages Sequence of Courses
    We offer French and Spanish at Sequoia High School. The following sequence of courses was put together to help incoming students see how you can reach the highest level of proficiency.
  • Elective Courses at Sequoia
    The following Chart shows electives that meet the Fine Arts and Career Technical Education requirements for graduation. We also list the World Languages offered, Science, Math and other stand-alone electives. P and HP courses meet the A-G requirements.
  • Courses Eligible as a 7th Class
    The regular number of courses a student takes in high school is 6. However, in order to make it possible for some students to develop some of their passions, there are some courses that students may opt to add to their schedule as a 7th course.
  • Video regarding Electives, Science and IB Programme - English
    The purpose of this video is to help you learn about the electives and science courses available to incoming 9th graders. It also includes a description of the International Baccalaureate Programme to help you plan the right courses to take in the 9th grade.
