Mentoring Program's MissionTop of Page

Sequoia's HCA Mentoring Program was developed because of the great value mentoring relationships bring to students' and mentors' success and personal well-being.
Our mission is to provide each High School Junior (11th grade) with a positive, personal relationship with a mentor. Mentors will guide their mentee(s) professionally and personally. They will help their mentee(s) access resources and opportunities. Moreover, help their mentee(s) to see their own strengths, take on challenges, and focus on their futures.

Outcomes of Your ParticipationTop of Page

Your Mentee Will:
  • Increase knowledge of the relationship between school and work.
  • Establish a professional relationship with a successful working adult.
  • Develop an awareness of business and career opportunities.
  • Expand understanding of professional and educational options

Commitment of a MentorTop of Page

  • Commit 2 hrs/month for mentor events.
  • Communicate with your mentee via email or phone at least twice a month.
  • Confidentially communicating with HCA staff regarding any concerns.

Mentor events occur once a month, generally here at Sequoia from 10:25am to 12:10pm (see the Sequoia Mentor Program page for up to date information). The Mentor Program "season" runs from October to early May.
