| Q. | What is the Attendance Policy? | ||||||||
| A. |
1. The Sequoia District Attendance Policy requires that students attend at least 60 hours in a class to receive CREDIT.
2. Sequoia’s students will receive an “NA” Grade (No Credit) in a class if they miss 12 or more times with 3 or more cuts in a class. |

| Q. | Who should I call to CLEAR ABSENCES? | ||||||||
| A. | Sequoia’s Attendance Office: Marceline Combs at 650-367-9780, ext. 6281 or (messages in Spanish at 6282). Call this number before 11a.m. each day that your student is absent from school. It is very important that the school knows your student has your permission to be absent. | ||||||||
| Q. | What information do I need to CLEAR ABSENCES? | ||||||||
| A. | Provide your student’s name and/or student number, the day and date of absence, the periods or periods of absence, and the reason for the absence. | ||||||||
| Q. | How do I make sure that my student (s) pass his/her classes? | ||||||||
| A. |
1. Your student must attend class regularly.
2. If your student is absent for a good reason, be sure you notify the Attendance Office stating the reason for the absence (send a note or make telephone call). 3. Your student must not CUT CLASSES. 4. Your student must make up the work missed when absent. |
