Electronic Devices Policy

  • No headphones, CD players, iPods, or radios except if a teacher uses them as equipment
  • No visible or audible beepers or cell phones

NOTE: Any student who is found with an electronic device due to it being visible or audible during the hours of 7:50 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. will have the item confiscated by the administration or any school staff member.

  1. The first offense will result in having the device taken away and held in the vice-principal's office until the end of the school day. The offense will be recorded in the student's discipline file.
  2. The second, and subsequent offenses, will result in the device being taken away and returned only to the guardian of the student. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. Again, all offenses will be recorded in the student's discipline file. Students will also receive an after-school detention. After-school detention is held in the AVP office daily from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m.
  3. For the third, and subsequent offenses, students will have the device confiscated as mentioned above and two after-school detentions will be assigned
  4. This policy begins in the 9th grade and accumulates every year the student is at Sequoia High School. It does NOT begin new each year.
