1. Parents/guardians must verify address. This process is completed online, however, you can receive support in-person at the Sequoia Union HS District Office (480 James Ave, Redwood City); instructions and the link to complete can be found here.
2. If Sequoia HS is not your home school, apply immediately for a transfer to Sequoia. Depending on where you live, you need to follow one of two procedures:
a. If you live in the Sequoia Union High School District, use the boundary search at the Sequoia Union HS district website to figure out if Sequoia is your home school. If it isn’t, you need to apply for an Intra-district transfer here.
b. If you live outside the Sequoia Union High School District, you need to apply for an Inter-district transfer here.
3. If you are at one of the District's public feeder schools, course selection forms will come home from your middle school with your 8th grade student in the spring (during the month of March). School Counselors from the Sequoia Union High School District will then come to your school to collect the forms and enter their courses in our district's student information system.
4. If you are not at one of the District's public feeder schools, complete the steps in this link. Based on your home address your student(s) will be assigned a high school and the high school's Registrar will be in touch with you with next steps. Sequoia High School's Registrar is, Mayra Melchor (650) 367-9780 ext. 60096, or e-mail to mmelchor@seq.org. Ms. Melchor's hours are 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday (habla español).
5. If your middle school is not familiar with courses at Sequoia and does not know what to do as far as course recommendations, please review in the course catalog before your registration appointment with a school counselor. Here is the link to Sequoia's course catalog. The Registrar will make an appointment for the new student and parent/guardian to meet with a school counselor to complete registration.
