Sequoia HS is overjoyed to announce that we WILL be facilitating an in-person graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021. 
 
Class of 2021 Graduation
Friday, June 4, 2021
10:00 AM - Approximately 12:00 Noon
Terremere Field (SEQ Football Field)
 
Each graduate will be provided with 4 tickets for guests. All guests must adhere to recommended social distancing protocols while in attendance

Good Afternoon Sequoia 12th Graders!! 
 
I wanted to first thank all of you for your patience throughout this year as we continued to operate under changing guidelines. We have made it to the home stretch and we are excited to tell you about a couple of upcoming events!!
 
Friday, April 30 - Decision Day and Senior Sunset
5:30 PM - Sundown
Join us at 5:30 for optional chalk drawing of your plans for next year. Are you going to college? Are you excited to start a new job? Chalking will take place outside of Gym 1. At 6:30 we will move to the baseball field for Senior Sunset. Bring blankets, chairs, etc. to sit on, and lawn games to play. ASB will provide the music! All social distancing protocols must be followed. All students must leave within 15 minutes of sunset.
 
Wednesday, May 12 - Cap and Gown Pickup
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Student Activities Center
Graduation is almost here! You've been thinking about this cap and gown for a long time, and now it's time to get yours! Caps and gowns can be picked up from the Student Activities Center. Students who submitted measurements will receive a package labeled with their name on it. If you did NOT submit measurements, we did order extras. You can still pick one up. Please make plans to attend on Wednesday. Students unable to attend on this date may pick their cap and gown up on Friday, 5/14 between 1:00-3:30 PM. 
 
Friday, May 14 - 1-Day Mask-erade Ticket Sale
1:00 - 3:30 PM, Elwood Parking Lot
Pick up your tickets for the upcoming "Mask-erade" Ball for the incredible price of $1. That's right. $1.00!!!!! Drive through, bike through, walk up or get to campus any other way you can to get your ticket. Actual dance event details below.
 
Friday, May 14 - Movie Night
Doors Open 7:00, Movie Begins 7:30
Come for an evening on the small turf field at the front of campus to watch and sing along to the film Pitch Perfect on the biggest inflatable screen you have ever seen! Admission is free, though you MUST RSVP head of time. Light concessions will be available for sale. This event is open to all grades. All social distancing protocols must be followed. All students must leave within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the film
 
Saturday, May 29 - "Mask-erade" Ball
6:00 - 9:00 PM - Grass Lawn at Front of School
Come enjoy the beautiful space at the front of Sequoia's campus for our 2021 Prom celebration. Food trucks, carnival games, music and more will help make this a night to remember! Don't forget to duck into the photobooth to commemorate the occasion! Formalwear optional. All social distancing protocols must be followed. All students must leave within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the event. 
 
Thursday, June 3 - Brunch and (MANDATORY) Graduation Practice 
Brunch - 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Grad Practice - 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM
BBQ lunch courtesy of the Sequoia HS PTSA. Come hang out with friends, sign yearbooks and get something tasty to eat. Make sure to be at school for MANDATORY graduation practice. If you don't attend practice, you WILL NOT participate in the ceremony. No exceptions. Be there. Be ready to follow instructions. The more efficiently we can run through everything we need to, the quicker you will be on your way! Caps and gowns not necessary for grad practice. 
 
Friday, June 4 - Graduation Ceremony
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Terremere Field
This is it, this is the big day! Congratulations you made it! Be at your staging locations by 9:00 AM (these instructions will be provided at the Thursday practice). We are able to accommodate up to four guests per graduate and will provide live streaming for those unable to attend. The ceremony will last approximately two hours. Gowns must be returned to your staging areas following the ceremony.

Primeramente, quería agradecerles por su paciencia durante este año mientras continuamos operando bajo reglas cambiantes. ¡Hemos llegado a la recta final y estamos entusiasmados de contarles sobre eventos próximos!
 
Viernes, 30 de abril: Día de la decisión y puesta del sol para personas mayores
5:30 PM - Puesta del sol
Únase a nosotros a las 5:30 PM para un dibujo con tiza opcional de sus planes para el próximo año. ¿Asistirás a clases en una universidad? ¿Estás emocionado de comenzar un nuevo trabajo? La tiza se llevará a cabo fuera del Gimnasio 1. A las 6:30 PM nos trasladaremos al campo de béisbol para ‘Senior Sunset’. Traiga mantas, sillas, etc. para sentarse y juegos de césped para jugar. ¡ASB proporcionará la música! Deben seguir las reglas de distanciamiento social. Todos los estudiantes deben salir dentro de los 15 minutos antes de la puesta del sol.
 
Miércoles, 12 de mayo: Recogida de toga y birrete (Cap and Gown)
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Centro de actividades para estudiantes
¡La graduación ya casi está aquí! Llevas mucho tiempo pensando en esta toga y birrete, ¡y ahora es el momento de hacerte con el tuyo! Las togas y birretes se pueden recoger en el Centro de Actividades Estudiantiles. Los estudiantes que enviaron las medidas recibirán un paquete etiquetado con su nombre. Si NO envió las medidas, solicitamos extras. Todavía puedes recoger uno. Haga planes para asistir el miércoles. Los estudiantes que no puedan asistir en esta fecha pueden recoger su toga y birrete el viernes 14 de mayo entre la 1:00-3:30 PM.
 
Viernes, 14 de mayo: Venta de entradas de 1 día para el baile de las "Mask-erade"
1:00 - 3:30 PM, estacionamiento de Elwood
Recoja sus boletos para el próximo baile "Mask-erade" por el increíble precio de $1. Así es. $1.00 !!!!! Conduzca, pasee en bicicleta, camine o llegue al campus en cualquier otra manera que pueda para obtener su boleto. Detalles reales del evento de baile a continuación.
 
Viernes 14 de mayo - Noche de cine afuera
Las puertas se abren a las 7:00, la película comienza a las 7:30
¡Venga a pasar una noche en el pequeño campo de césped en la parte delantera del campus para ver y cantar la película Pitch Perfect en la pantalla inflable más grande que haya visto! La entrada es gratuita, aunque DEBE confirmar su asistencia antes de tiempo. Las concesiones de luz estarán disponibles para la venta. Este evento está abierto a todos los grados. Se deben seguir todos los protocolos de distanciamiento social. Todos los estudiantes deben irse dentro de los 15 minutos posteriores a la conclusión de la película.
 
Sábado, 29 de mayo - Baile "Mask-erade"
6:00 - 9:00 PM - Césped en el frente de la escuela
Venga a disfrutar del hermoso espacio en el frente del campus de Sequoia para nuestra celebración del baile de graduación 2021. ¡Los camiones de comida, los juegos de carnaval, la música y más ayudarán a que esta sea una noche inolvidable! ¡No te olvides de meterte en el fotomatón para conmemorar la ocasión! Ropa formal opcional. Se deben seguir todos los protocolos de distanciamiento social. Todos los estudiantes deben irse dentro de los 15 minutos posteriores a la conclusión del evento.
 
Jueves 3 de junio - BBQ y práctica de graduación (OBLIGATORIA)
BBQ - 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Práctica de posgrado - 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Almuerzo de barbacoa cortesía de Sequoia HS PTSA. Venga a pasar el rato con amigos, firme anuarios y coma algo sabroso. Asegúrate de estar en la escuela para la práctica de graduación OBLIGATORIA. Si no asiste a la práctica, NO participará en la ceremonia. Sin excepciones. Estar ahí. Esté preparado para seguir las instrucciones. ¡Cuanto más eficientemente podamos ejecutar todo lo que necesitamos, más rápido estará en su camino! Las togas y birretes no son necesarios para la práctica de posgrado.
 
Viernes 4 de junio - Ceremonia de graduación
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Terremere Field
¡Este es, este es el gran día! ¡Felicidades lo lograste! Esté en los lugares de preparación antes de las 9:00 AM. (Estas instrucciones se proporcionarán en la práctica del jueves). Podemos acomodar hasta cuatro invitados por graduado y brindaremos transmisión en vivo para aquellos que no puedan asistir. La ceremonia tendrá una duración aproximada de dos horas. Los vestidos deben devolverse a las áreas de preparación después de la ceremonia.

 
 
 
 
 

Caps/Gowns

Sequoia Union High School District this year will loan each senior a cap and gown for graduation.

  • The district will be purchasing the cap and gowns, which will then be checked out to seniors who are participating in the graduation ceremony
  • Students will have to return the gowns following the ceremony in order to receive the diploma. Caps and tassels may be kept as keepsakes.
  • Students should complete THIS FORM in order to submit measurements for their caps and gowns
  • ORDERS ARE CLOSED FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR. We have ordered extra caps and gowns for those who were unable to place orders

Photos

  • Pre-order your graduation photos by registering online at www.gradimages.com
  • Families will be able to see photos before selecting and ordering
  • Most students will have one photo holding their diploma cover with the American flag in the background
  • Upon visiting the above website, follow the prompts for further information

Ceremony Attire

Attire for Graduates

  • Although you will be wearing your cap and gown, It is important that what you wear underneath is comfortable and appropriate for the ceremony. Plan for it to be a warm day, so wear something light (but up to school dress code) underneath.
  • No jeans or shorts
  • Comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or casual sandals will be allowed). High heels will sink into the turf, so make sure it is a wedge only
  • Please leave all cameras and other valuables at home or with a family member. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items during the ceremony.
  • Cultural stoles and leis may be worn over your gown.
