What is the DP?title
The IB Diploma Programme is one of the most well-respected high school programs in the world, developing "students who:
- have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge
- flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically
- study at least two languages
- excel in traditional academic subjects
- explore the nature of knowledge" (IBO, n.d.)
At Sequoia, 11th and 12th graders who choose to participate in DP will:
- Take six IB courses across the six groups of study during their junior and senior years
- Take Sequoia's Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course
- Complete the Extended Essay (an independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper)
- Complete Sequoia's CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) Program
